SAGE PLUM craniosacral therapy
Sasha Baylor, LMT, CCST
WA massage license #MA00015794
We will talk about your concerns, goals, and any health conditions for the first 5-15 minutes of your first session.
Then you will lay down, fully clothed, on the massage table. Occasionally pillows are used to support parts of the body— such as a pillow placed under the knees to relax your low back.
I visually scan the body, comparing positions of shoulders, hip bones, spine, length of legs.
Then, I begin the treatment by lightly placing my hands on various areas of the body, most often starting with the sacrum (the base of the spine), or the ankles.
Using gentle pressure, often no more than the weight of a penny, I listen to the body’s rhythms and subtle movements, specifically tuning into the craniosacral system—the cerebrospinal fluid and the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord.
As the session progresses, I work to release any restrictions or imbalances within the craniosacral system. These restrictions can arise from physical trauma, stress, or emotional tension, and releasing them allows the body’s natural healing processes to flow more freely.
The experience often feels meditative; clients frequently report sensations like warmth, gentle pulsing, or light tingling as I work.
Throughout the session, I may move my hands to different areas of the body—such spine, pelvis, or diaphragm—depending on where restrictions are sensed. The goal is to encourage the body to relax and self-correct, restoring balance and promoting a deep sense of well-being.
Clients often leave a session feeling deeply relaxed, more centered, and sometimes experience relief from pain, tension, or stress they may have carried for years.
Each session is unique to you and your needs at that moment, so no two sessions are exactly alike.
